A certificate that was valid when issued may have been suspended, revoked, or superseded. Without real-time status verification, operators rely on documents that may no longer reflect the holder’s actual authorization.

Cryptographic identity binding
The person presenting credentials is cryptographically bound to those credentials. Sphereon’s verification layer ensures that the individual at the point of action is the authorized holder, not just that a valid certificate exists somewhere in a system.
Real-time status verification
Authorization status is verified at the moment of the presentation, not at the moment of issuance. Revocations, suspensions, and expirations are instantly visible, regardless of where in the world the verification takes place.
Offline-capable verification
In environments without reliable internet connectivity, such as aboard a vessel at sea, in a remote maintenance facility, or on an offshore platform, Sphereon supports offline verification via Bluetooth and NFC, consistent with ISO 18013-5 standards.
Multi-issuer, multi-jurisdiction support
Crew members, maintenance technicians, and aviation professionals hold credentials issued by multiple authorities across multiple jurisdictions. Sphereon’s trust registry infrastructure resolves issuer authenticity across all of them in a single verification event.
