Confidential
Signing
Signing confidential documents and data
The problem: Typically, electronic signing solutions are implemented as an online service, where you have to send your confidential documents to a remote, third-party service. You have no control over what happens to these confidential documents!
Our software enables you to sign documents and input data in a privacy-preserving manner. Your confidential documents or data do not leave your premises. You’re not sending the full document across the wire to a third-party service.
Which obviously is much better from a security and privacy perspective!
Fully eIDAS-compliant
The Sphereon solution is fully compliant with the EU eIDAS-regulations
We supports both Advanced (AES) as well as Qualified (QES) electronic signatures.
This means that our electronic signatures are legally binding in all European member states, as well as many other countries, including the USA.
Rijksdienst Wegverkeer
The Rijksdienst Wegverkeer (RDW) is the Dutch National Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and sends out many thousands of official documents per week. Documents about certification of motor vehicles, vehicle licenses, driver licenses, inspections, and many more topics.
As many of these documents have a legal status, it is important that all parties that see these documents can be sure that they are indeed issued by the RDW and have not been tampered with.
This is done using an electronic signature. But what makes this use case special is that these confidential documents never leave their secure infrastructure. Only a hash of the content is send to our external signing service where an official eIDAS-compliant certificate is stored in a Hardware Storage Module (HSM) and is used to sign (the hash of) the document.
